As a kid, I absolutely loved this time of year. Obviously for many reasons (including springtime warmth and flowers... though these days, we seem to only be experiencing freezing cold and snow), but my favorite things? Easter candy and Easter movies.

Particularly when they're paired with each other.

There were some pretty fabulous Easter movies in the 1980s and we had them all on one single coveted VHS tape. Nowadays, I'm blessed by the fact that I can watch all my old favorites on YouTube.

And though there are some new Easter candies on the block these days, the old standbys have still stuck around.

If you've ever made homemade candy bark before, you know how absolutely easy it is to make. And how fun it is to customize for every holiday and occasion or for your own personal tastes.

This Easter Oreo bark is perfect for the spring season and can be enjoyed while celebrating Easter with family, as an after school treat, or as an Easter movie watching snack.

🗒 Ingredients

As with any bark, you can easily customize this Easter version to use the chocolate, cookies, candies and flavors you love best.

I only use 4 ingredients for this Oreo bark, but you can use as many as you want! Think about all those delicious candy options...

Here's everything I use for my Easter bark (be sure to view the recipe card at the bottom of this post for ingredient amounts and full recipe instructions):

• White chocolate chips
• Peeps Oreo Cookies: you can also use classic Oreo cookies or the flavor of your choice
• Spring M&Ms
• Spring sprinkles

I'm sparing you any true Peeps recipes this year, but when Oreo sent me a package of their Peeps Oreo Cookies, I knew I had to work them into an Easter bark recipe immediately.

🍫 How to make Easter Oreo bark

This bark is so incredibly simple and easy, that you'll almost feel silly making it. But it's also so much fun to bring to any party or celebration and will certainly always be a hit. Even when Easter is long passed.

If you can't find the Peeps Oreo cookies (I believe that as of 2020, they have sadly been discontinued), you can replace with any flavor, whether it's one of Oreo's spring versions or just the plain old classic Oreo cookie.

Literally all you have to do is crumble some cookies, melt some chocolate, and sprinkle candy and colorful sprinkles over it. Easiest ever.

I decided to place most of my crumbled Oreo Cookies on my pan and then spread the chocolate over them. This way, the cookies would permeate the chocolate throughout.

I sprinkled the remaining cookies on top of the white chocolate, along with some spring M&Ms and incredibly springlike sprinkles. And done!

Invited to a last minute spring gathering? Go into your pantry and pull out any fun candy and sprinkles you have, along with some chocolate chips, and you're good to go.

The bark will need to sit for a little bit to set, but you can always speed things up by putting it in the fridge.

If you don't love white chocolate, you can always use milk or dark. But you know, I am not really the biggest white chocolate fan, but combined with the chocolate Oreo cookies and M&Ms, I loved this Easter bark! You can also use any type of Oreo, candies, and sprinkles.

⏲️ How to store

Once the bark is made and broken apart, I recommend storing it in an airtight container in a cool, dark spot. It should keep fresh for 7-10 days when stored properly.

You can store it in the fridge if your house is too warm, but I think it's best at room temperature!

🎉 Other add-in ideas

I love the simplicity of my Easter Oreo bark, but here are some other ideas for add-ins and alterations:

• Crushed Cadbury Mini Eggs
• Crushed Cadbury Creme Eggs
• Chopped Reese's Cups
• Chopped jelly beans
• Other M&M flavors, like peanut butter, caramel, or pretzel
• Pretzels
• Lemon Oreo cookies
• Milk chocolate or dark chocolate as base or as drizzle
• Dried fruits
• Nuts, like pistachio or almonds
• Crushed cereal of your choice

I will also tell you that if you're not attending any parties or gatherings, you may not want to make this. It's dangerous to have around your house!

Then again, it's also pretty dangerous to have a package of Peeps Oreo Cookies sitting around your house. I tried them last year when they were made with vanilla cookies, but the chocolate cookies are so much better! They're a little less sweet, but in a really good way.

But like I mentioned, any variety of Oreo cookie would be delicious in this Easter bark!

Welp, it must be after Easter that we start working on our bikini bodies, right?? I'm pretty sure Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Easter all take place during sweater weather in most parts of the country because of all the amazing candy that comes along with them.

May, June, July, and August are pretty novelty candy free. For good reason I suppose. But man, that's a long stretch without holiday candy.

So, take full advantage of the last candy holiday for some time and make this Easter Oreo bark. (I also highly recommend you stock up on Easter candy to carry you through the summer).
