Mary I. Daniels, 500 Clarksville Road, Hermitage, formerly of West State Street, Sharon, died unexpectedly at 1:50 p.m. Monday (9-8-97) in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 77.

Mrs. Daniels was born Sept. 25, 1919, in West Middlesex to Frank and Ida Wallace Dout

She attended Hermitage district schools.

During World War II, she was employed by General American Transportation Corp.'s former Masury plant.

Mrs. Daniels was a homemaker.

Surviving is a brother, Lee W. Dout, Jefferson Township.

She was preceded in death by a son, John Rombold; two brothers, Lewis and Arthur Dout; and four sisters, Alice Guffey

Eugene R. `Buddy' Guerino Eugene R. ``Buddy'' Guerino, 335 S. 8th St., Sharpsville, died at 2:20 a.m. today (9-9-97) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 63.

Twila M. Patterson

Hadley woman belonged to Christian Missionary Alliance

Twila M. Patterson, White-Cliff Nursing Home, Hempfield Township, formerly of Hadley, died Monday (9-8-97) in Horizon Hospital System, Greenville. She was 90.

Mrs. Patterson was born Sept. 11, 1906, in Stoneboro, to Harris W. and Lula Lyons Frost.

She was a 1924 graduate of the former Stoneboro High School.

Mrs. Patterson was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Greenville.

She was a homemaker.

Her husband, Ralph D. Patterson, whom she married Aug. 25, 1926, died Aug. 5, 1985.

Surviving are: four daughters, Mrs. Jack (Ginny

) Marsteller, Transfer; Mrs. Gene (Lois) Greathouse, Hadley; and Mrs. Jim (Donna) Mallin and Mrs. Ray (Charlotte) Clark, both Greenville; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and William Frost; two sisters, Cora Jones and Stella Pears; and a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Great[DH]house.

Earl `Boots' Ryder

Mercer man worked in maintenance at GATX

Earl ``Boots'' Ryder, 117 1/2 N. Diamond St., Mercer, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday (9-3-97) in United Community Hospital, Pine Township. He was 70.

Mr. Ryder was born July 31, 1927, in Mercer to John T. and Eva Mae

Redmond Ryder.

He was employed in the maintenance department of General American Transportation Corp.'s former Masury plant.

Mr. Ryder was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1637; and American Legion Post 159, both Mercer; and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1895, Grove City.

Surviving are: a son, Earl Ryder, Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Lori

Ryder, Masury; a brother, John T. Jr., Mercer; and two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Marilyn) Hutton, Hermitage; and Mrs. Richard (Carol) Heasley, Lake Worth, Fla.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Darla Jean Turner; and a brother, Richard Ryder.

A cremation is scheduled.

Edythe E. Werts Sowash

Jamestown F.D. life member helped raise 32 foster kids

Edythe E. Werts Sowash, West Salem Township, formerly of Summit Street, Jamestown, died at 5:45 p.m. Sunday (9-7-97) in St. Paul Homes, West Salem Township, of natural causes. She was 78.

Mrs. Sowash was born Nov. 11, 1918, in Brockway, Pa., to Alfred Kerr

Pierce and Lena Mae Felt Werts.

She was a life member of Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary and belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5424, Jamestown.

A homemaker, Mrs. Sowash and her husband helped to raise 32 foster children for Mercer County Children's Services.

Her husband, Cecil E. Sowash, whom she married Nov. 11, 1934, died Dec. 3, 1984.

Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Albern

(Patricia S.) Potter, Jamestown; a son, G. William, Greenville; a sister, Lola R. Moate, Greenville; three brothers, Charles, George and Joseph Werts, Renova, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Verle

Kelly and Nancy Sp*rney; and two brothers, Alfred Jr. and Delmar Werts.

Mrs. Cecil E. (Edythe E. Werts), 78, West Salem Township, formerly of Summit Street, Jamestown.

Grace A. Wilcox Grace A. Wilcox, Deer Creek Township, died at 9:10 p.m. Monday (9-8-97) in Wengerd Home Care for the Elderly, 415 Cranberry Road, Deer Creek Township. She was 72.
