Eva A. Harrison, John XXIII Home, Hermitage, died at 4:10 a.m. Saturday (8-26-00) in the home after an extended illness. She was 92.
Mrs. Harrison was born July 8, 1908, in Elk Garden, W.Va., to James B. and Emma Flanigan King.
A homemaker, she was employed at Whitmer-Smith Womens Clothing Store, Sharon.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Sharon.
Her husband, Clifford Harrison, whom she married Feb. 5, 1927, died Sept. 14, 1979.
Surviving are two sons, Donald C. Harrison, Sharon and Richard P. Harrison, Pittsburgh; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters and seven brothers.

Former beautician enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing
Louise Hicklin, 511 Dickens Place, Sharon, died at 10:40 a.m. Saturday (8-26-00) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System following an extended illness. She was 75.
Mrs. Hicklin was born Feb., 5, 1925, in Cypher, Pa., to Chester and Mary Martha Floor Mellott.
She was a licensed beautician for 40 years.
A lifetime member of Hickory United Methodist Church, she also attended Sharon Baptist Church, both Hermitage.
Mrs. Hicklin enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking.
She was a former member of the Saturday Night Friendship Bowling League at Hickory Bowl.
Her husband, Clifford B. Hicklin, whom she married Nov. 6, 1942, died Dec. 5, 1986.
Surviving are: a daughter, Sharon L. Wilson, Austintown, Ohio; a son, Daniel C. Hicklin, Poland, Ohio; a brother, Howard T. Mellott, Sharon; a sister, Rosetta Steele, Altoona; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.

Frances C. Laird, 1191 Mercer-New Wilmington Road, East Lackawannock Township, died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday (8-26-00) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell, due to heart failure. She was 83.
Mrs. Laird was born Aug. 14, 1917, in Oil City, to Earl Bradley and Daisy Snow.
Retiring in 1985, she had been employed at Mercer County Home and Hospital, Coolspring Township, for 14 years as a clerk.
Mrs. Laird was a member of Mercer Free Methodist Church.
Her husband, Paul Laird, whom she married March 28, 1935, died Aug. 17, 1975.
Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. William (Ruth) Biselli, New Wilmington and Mrs. Daniel (Reesa) Adams, Mercer; two sons, Ronald Laird, Transfer and Gerald Laird, Jamestown; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Bruce and Dale Laird; four sisters; and three brothers.

Mrs. Suhrie was born Sept. 24, 1928, in Bedford County, Pa., to John Michael Hickey and Veronica Mary Smith.
A homemaker, she was employed at Interstate Auto Auction of Mercer, and worked until the time of her illness.
Mrs. Suhrie was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Mercer, and the churchs Altar Rosary Society.
Her husband, Robert Leo Suhrie, whom she married Nov. 22, 1947, died Jan. 28, 1992.
Surviving are: four sons, Robert E., Cape Coral, Fla.; Patrick J., Mercer; Gary T., Jacksonville, Fla.; and Kevin G., Mercer; two sisters, Theresa Karns, Bedford, Pa. and Eunice Beard, Beach City, Ohio; five brothers, George Hickey, Johnstown; Charles, Thomas and Carl Hickey, all of Bedford; and Dale Hickey, York, Pa.; and five grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Vincent.

NEW CASTLE -- Funeral service will be Tuesday for John R. Swab Sr., 211 Eastwood Lane, New Middletown, Ohio, formerly of Brookfield, who died at 11:23 a.m. Thursday (8-24-00) in the hospital of Jameson Health System, New Castle, after an extended illness. He was 64.
Mr. Swab was born Oct. 30, 1935, in Rossiter, Pa., to Clifford and Anna Simpson Swab.
A Marine Corps veteran, he was owner and president of X-Press Trucking Co., Lowellville, Ohio.
Mr. Swab was a member of the Youngstown Traffic Club and the Sharon Lions Club.
He enjoyed golfing, bowling and traveling.
Surviving are: his wife, the former Hilda Utberg, whom he married August 27, 1955; a daughter, Brenda K. Swab, New Castle; two sons, John R., Jr., Brookfield; and Rodney E., Omaha, Neb.; four sisters, Ruth Bartlebaugh, Angola, N.Y., Delores Gallagher, Clarksburg, Pa., Agnes Shaffer, Punxsutawney, and Hazel Yackubosky, Clymer, Pa.; two brothers, Clarence, Erie and Clifford, Eden, N.Y.; and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Bridgot L.; a son, Michael A.; and a brother, Thomas.

Mrs. Yonchak was born Aug. 9, 1925, in Hubbard, to Frank and Nellie Potock Wozniak.
She retired in 1982 after 15 years as a clerk for the Ohio Rubber Co., Willoughby.
Her husband, Andrew Yonchak, died in 1995.
Surviving are: a son, Edward Yonchak, Painesville; a sister, Margaret Dravesky, Cortland; a brother, Walter Wozniak, Brookfield; and three grandchildren.
